FOLKLORE SKATEBOARD FOUNDER’S 20KM OCEAN SWIM TO SUPPORT CANCER RESEARCH
The idea of swimming the 20kms from Cottesloe to Rottnest Island is more than just a little daunting, but that’s what Vincent Kennard-Davis, the owner of Folklore and Drifter skateboards, will be attempting on Feb 27.
The annual Rottnest Channel Swim is an iconic West Australian event, and Vincent is doing it to raise funds for Cancer Research. He has been putting in the hours as well, training six times per week and is confident he’ll be ready to give it a great shot when he hits the water.
“I lost my mother-in-law and another close friend to cancer last year and I have quite a few friends currently going through the cancer journey,” Vincent said.
“The only way we’re going to beat cancer is through research. I’ve joined up with the ANU Cancer Research Department in a fund raising effort and every cent raised will go to directly to cancer research. The public’s generosity is my motivation and every dollar donated will make these training sessions a little easier.”
