We’re stoked to share, the official global announcement of the Globe Australia Pro Presented by Boost Mobile hitting Port Melbourne on Sunday 10th November. The event will see the best vert skaters in Australia, including Paris Olympic Gold Medalist and 2024 World Champion Arisa Trew, 3 Time Guinness World Record holder Mia Kretzer, along with Olympians Keiran Wooley, Keefer and Aaliyah Wilson, plus internationals including Paris Olympic Silver Medalist Tom Schaar(USA) and 10 year old ‘900’ phenom Ema Kawakami (Japan) all competing for an $80,000 cash purse.

The event features a brand-new purpose-built vert ramp built as a training facility for Skate Australia and their SBP Skateboard Development Program for the Los Angeles Olympics.

Having run skate events since 1985, from local grass roots sessions around Australia to international events at Rod Laver Arena and the Sydney Opera House, Globe and Boost Mobile have decided to fire up Australian vert skateboarding with the world’s best skateboarders competing for a cash purse and vert skateboarding glory.

Jason Haynes, CEO Boost Mobile said;

“Boost Mobile is excited to be a part of the Globe Australia Pro as the presenting partner, Globe and the people who run it have a long history in supporting skateboarding and skateboarders in the most core and authentic ways.  It also will be an event that brings back the raw energy that only skateboarding can bring, something that has been missing in recent years. With a World Class line up of skateboarders coming, it’s going to something you won’t want to miss.”

Renton Millar, 2009 World Vert Skateboarding Champion and Olympic Head Judge said;

“We are in a new era of vertical skating. It’s very exciting. It’s a part of skateboarding that has a big history in Australia. The field is very eclectic. At the Globe Australia Pro there are young girls like Mia and Arisa that approach it with a very graceful and fluent style and are at the absolute forefront of a new movement … and on the other hand, we have older guys like Clay Kreiner and Tom Schaar that are like a bull in a china shop. They all push skateboarding in their own directions. I can’t wait! It’s gonna be a great atmosphere and amazing to watch.”

Mitch Tomlinson, X Games and Nine Network Olympic Skateboarding Commentator said;

“It’s amazing to see some of the biggest names in skateboarding come to Australia for the Globe Australia Pro, but let’s not forget – we’ve got some insane talent right here at home too. Skateboarding is thriving, and events like this are helping it grow – whether it’s nurturing new talent, supporting the current industry, or inspiring the next generation. Whether it’s a seasoned skater reliving their passion, a current pro or a 10-year-old kid just discovering skating, skateboarding is in a great spot.”

Matt Hill, CEO Globe International said;

“Globe has been supporting the development and promotion of skateboarding in Australia for more than 40 years now and the Globe Australia Pro is another major step in this ongoing evolution. To see a global event of this type taking place right here in our own backyard will be a really gratifying experience and an epic event to witness.”
